Types and techniques of blending modified raw materials for natural rubber

Natural rubber has high mechanical strength and good hand elasticity. It is widely used in the rubber products industry. However, natural rubber has high price and some properties are not good. In many cases, it is necessary to blend other types of raw materials in the formulation to modify or improve. The purpose of rubber products comprehensive performance, extending the service life, or the purpose of reducing costs; when blending other raw materials in natural rubber products for modification, different types of improved raw material blending process skills are different, roughly divided into the following three :

1. Natural rubber blended into rubber modified

Synthetic rubber is a synthetic high-elastic copolymer. Commonly used are styrene-butadiene rubber, butadiene rubber, EPDM rubber, neoprene rubber, nitrile rubber, etc. Among them, styrene-butadiene rubber blended in natural rubber products can be used. Improve the wear resistance and aging resistance of natural rubber products and reduce the cost; blending natural rubber into butadiene rubber to improve the wear resistance and low temperature of natural rubber products; EPDM rubber can be used in natural rubber products to improve Ozone resistance and aging resistance of rubber products; neoprene rubber can improve the oxygen resistance, ozone resistance and weather resistance of natural rubber products; nitrile rubber generally uses natural rubber as a modifier to improve the nitrile rubber products. Processing performance.

The blending of an appropriate amount of CSM rubber in the natural rubber product production formula can further improve the weather resistance, ozone resistance and wear resistance of the natural rubber product.

2. Natural rubber blended with chlorinated polyethylene modified

Chlorinated polyethylene, ie CEP, is a saturated polymer material with weather resistance, ozone resistance, chemical resistance and aging resistance. The use of proper amount of CPE in the production of natural rubber products can significantly improve the weather resistance and oil resistance of natural rubber. The study shows that in natural rubber/CPE blends, as the amount of CPE increases, the 300% modulus, tear strength and hardness of the blends increase, but the tensile strength is lower than that of CPE. Natural rubber vulcanizate is low.

3. Natural rubber blended waste rubber powder modification

At present, there are two main ways to recycle and recycle waste rubber. One is the recycling of waste rubber into recycled rubber, and the other is recycled rubber powder. The addition of proper amount of rubber powder in the production of natural rubber products can improve natural rubber products. Tear strength, wear resistance, aging resistance and fatigue resistance, reduce rubber heat generation and compression set, improve fluidity, reduce raw material cost; but in actual production, when rubber powder is modified, rubber powder Excessive dosage will lead to a decrease in the strength of the rubber compound and a decrease in the process performance. Therefore, it is necessary to properly control the amount of the rubber powder when the natural rubber is mixed with the waste rubber powder.

Natural rubber products can also be blended with suitable types of reclaimed rubber during the production process to reduce the production cost while improving the performance of natural rubber products. When blending other materials in natural rubber for modification, the following problems must be paid attention to: the compatibility between the polymers must be homogeneous in the macroscopic aspect; the blending agent is ensured to be reasonably distributed in the polymer of each phase; The vulcanization of different polymers should be synchronized, and it is best to crosslink between the natural rubber and other materials.
