Four effective measures to improve the adhesion of nitrile recycled rubber products

Nitrile reclaimed rubber has a large oil resistance coefficient and good wear resistance, which can be used to replace nitrile rubber to produce various oil-resistant and wear-resistant rubber products, effectively reducing the cost of raw materials. In actual production, many nitrile rubber products need to bond the rubber part with fiber materials, metal materials, etc., so the adhesion of rubber materials is high. When using nitrile rubber and nitrile reclaimed rubber to produce rubber products, the adhesion of rubber can be improved through the following four measures.

1. Rational use of fillers to improve the adhesion of nitrile recycled rubber

When producing rubber products from nitrile rubber, nitrile reclaimed rubber or nitrile rubber/nitrile reclaimed rubber in combination, the use of fillers can not only improve the physical properties of the rubber, but also affect the adhesion of the rubber compound. Carbon black and silica, in particular, have a significant impact on the viscosity and adhesion of nitrile compounds.

In actual production, the adhesive of the rubber compound using groove carbon black, medium super wear-resistant furnace black and high wear-resistant furnace black is low, while the semi-reinforcing furnace black and hot cracking carbon black can give nitrile rubber a higher adhesion 2SLYY1211. Among the white fillers, the adhesive reinforced with silica is poor, while the particulate activated calcium carbonate and clay can give the rubber better adhesion performance. In addition, the combination of silica and magnesium carbonate can improve the adhesion of nitrile recycled rubber.

2. Rational use of plasticizers to improve the adhesion of nitrile recycled rubber

When using nitrile reclaimed rubber as the main raw material to produce cost-effective nitrile rubber products, the plasticizer in the formula can reduce the viscosity of the rubber and improve the adhesion by reducing the interaction force among the macromolecules of nitrile rubber, improving the molecular motility and mutual diffusion. However, if the plasticizer is not selected properly, it may leach out of the rubber and affect the adhesion performance. In actual production, coumaron resin and liquid nitrile rubber are plasticizers with good tackifying effect, and dibutyl phthalate has good tackifying effect.

It should be noted that the aromatic softening oil has poor compatibility with nitrile rubber, is easy to exude, and the adhesion of the rubber is poor; Therefore, it is not recommended to use aromatic softening oil when producing rubber products with certain requirements for adhesion of nitrile reclaimed rubber.

3. Direct addition of tackifier to improve the adhesion of nitrile recycled rubber

When using nitrile rubber, nitrile reclaimed rubber, nitrile rubber/nitrile reclaimed rubber and rubber to produce rubber products, the direct addition of coumaron resin, pine tar, coal tar, hydrogenated rosin, petroleum tar and liquid nitrile rubber can effectively improve the adhesion of rubber compounds.

Coumaron resin, pine tar, coal tar, hydrogenated rosin, petroleum tar and liquid nitrile rubber are excellent tackifiers. 4. In the production process of nitrile rubber and nitrile reclaimed rubber products, before the rubber material is laminated with other materials, the nitrile rubber solvent is applied on the laminating surface of the rubber compound, which can not only remove the ejections on the surface of the rubber such as wax, sulfur, plasticizer, etc., but also make the surface of the rubber swell, improve the macromolecular movement and diffusion ability, and thus increase the adhesion among the nitrile rubber material and other materials.
