Varieties and characteristics of commonly used accelerators for recycled rubber products

When using recycled rubber to produce rubber products, adding vulcanization accelerators to the rubber material can significantly shorten vulcanization time and lower vulcanization temperature. According to chemical structure, accelerators can be divided into thiazole type, sulfonamide type, thiuram type, disulfide carbamate type, guanidine type, thiourea type accelerators, etc. Different types of accelerators have different specific functions in recycled rubber products. Today, I will share with you the types and characteristics of commonly used accelerators in the production of recycled rubber products.

1. Accelerator TMTD

Qiu Lamb type accelerators have a short scorching time and can complete vulcanization in a short period of time. Accelerator TMTD belongs to the typical thiuram type super accelerator, commonly used as a promoter for thiazole type accelerators or in combination with other accelerators as a promoter for continuous vulcanization of rubber compounds; When used as the main accelerator, zinc oxide activation is required, and if necessary, stearic acid can be used. When using recycled rubber to reduce rubber products such as tires, inner tubes, rubber shoes, industrial rubber plates, conveyor belts, wires and cables, the commonly used accelerator TMTD is non discoloring and non polluting.

Regenerated rubber accelerator DM

2. Accelerator M/DM

The vulcanization curve of thiazole type accelerators has a certain flatness. When using recycled rubber to produce rubber products, thiazole type accelerators such as M and DM are commonly used.

Accelerator M is a universal accelerator that has a rapid vulcanization effect. It is recommended to use zinc oxide and stearic acid activation. Thiuram, dithiocarbamate, aldehydes, guanidine type accelerators, as well as lead monoxide, magnesium oxide, and magnesium carbonate can all increase the activity of accelerator M. Accelerator M is easily dispersed and pollution-free in recycled rubber, making tires. When using recycled rubber in industrial products such as inner tubes, tape, and rubber shoes, accelerator M is often used.

Accelerator DM belongs to the general type accelerator, with significant aftereffect and safe operation. It is often used in conjunction with zinc oxide and stearic acid; When accelerator DM is used alone in recycled rubber products, the curing rate is slower, and it is often used in combination with thiuram, dithiocarbamate, aldehyde amine, and guanidine accelerators to improve activity. Promoter DM is easily dispersed and pollution-free in recycled rubber.

Regenerated rubber accelerator NOBS

3. Accelerator CZ/NOBS

Sulfonamide based accelerators have a long scorching time, fast vulcanization start, flatness, and good performance. They are widely used in recycled rubber products, and commonly used accelerators include CZ and NOBS.

Accelerator CZ is one of the commonly used delayed accelerators in recycled rubber products, with good scorch resistance and fast vulcanization rate. It can be combined with zinc oxide and stearic acid. Accelerator TMTD, TMTM, PZ, D or other alkaline accelerators are commonly used as auxiliary accelerators, and can also be activated by accelerator M and accelerator DM; When using butyl recycled rubber 2SLYY47, nitrile recycled rubber, ethylene propylene recycled rubber, etc. to produce rubber products, the use of accelerator CZ can significantly improve the elongation stress and tensile strength of the recycled rubber vulcanizate.

Accelerator NOBS is a typical delayed accelerator, which can also be used as a promoter or a promoter to improve scorching. It has a long scorching time, high operational safety, and good vulcanization flatness; Very suitable for recycled rubber compounds containing fine particle alkaline furnace carbon black, with excellent mechanical strength and aging resistance of vulcanized rubber. Promoter NOBS is easily dispersed and does not spray frost in recycled rubber, mainly used for tires, inner tubes, rubber shoes, tire flipping, cables, etc.

4. Accelerator D

The vulcanization curve of guanidine type accelerators shows a gentle slope shape, commonly known as accelerator D. Accelerator D can be used as a medium speed accelerator in the production of recycled rubber products, with poor vulcanization flatness and good aging resistance of vulcanized rubber. When using recycled rubber to produce rubber products, accelerator D is commonly used as an activator for thiazole type accelerators, sulfonamide type accelerators, and thiuram type accelerators; It can be used in combination with accelerator DM or TMTD for continuous vulcanization. It should be noted that accelerator D has moderate pollution and is not suitable for white or light colored recycled rubber products.
