The choice of vulcanization system has a decisive impact on the high-temperature performance of butyl reclaimed rubber products. A resin vulcanization system is an ideal choice to improve the high-temperature resistance of butyl reclaimed rubber. By using phenolic resin or alkyl phenolic resin vulcanization, butyl reclaimed rubber can form stable —C—C— and —C—O—C— crosslinking bonds with good thermal stability. For example, highly reactive phenolic resins such as tert-butyl phenolic resin and brominated alkyl phenolic resin, combined with activators such as stannous chloride and zinc oxide, used at a vulcanization temperature of 160-180°C, ensure that the crosslinking reaction of the butyl reclaimed rubber is fully carried out.

Rubber softeners can improve the processing performance of butyl reclaimed rubber, but most softeners tend to volatilize or migrate at high temperatures, causing issues such as hardening and shrinkage of the product. When producing high-temperature resistant rubber products with butyl reclaimed rubber, it is recommended to choose high-boiling, low-volatility plasticizers, with usage controlled within 5-15 parts. If necessary, reactive plasticizers or polymer-based plasticizers can be used.
4. High-Temperature Resistant Butyl Reclaimed Rubber Product Anti-Aging System Design
Butyl reclaimed rubber itself has good heat resistance, but when used in the production of high-temperature resistant rubber products, it is still necessary to use anti-aging agents to improve the material's resistance to thermal oxidative aging and extend its service life. Common heat-resistant oxidative anti-aging agents for butyl reclaimed rubber include amine-based anti-aging agents such as RD and 4010NA, and phenol-based anti-aging agents such as 2246 and SP, with usage controlled within 1-3 parts.
