How to choose a vulcanizing agent when chlorobutyl is used in combination with other rubbers 1

Chlorinated butyl rubber is made by injecting chlorine into a butyl rubber solution. It can be regarded as a copolymer of isobutylene and a small amount of chloroisoprene. It has the characteristics of butyl rubber and has a faster vulcanization speed and is compatible with other rubbers. It has better performance and can be used together with natural rubber, styrene butadiene rubber, butadiene rubber, nitrile rubber, etc. to prepare rubber products with better comprehensive performance. Different vulcanization systems need to be selected for different combined rubbers.

1. Chlorinated butyl rubber compound and butyl rubber are used together

Chlorinated butyl rubber can be used together with butyl rubber in any ratio. Sulfur, sulfur donor, resin or quinone oxime vulcanization system can be selected for the combined rubber. Among them, the sulfur-accelerator vulcanized chlorinated butyl rubber 2YLYY826 has the best performance. Good. Compared with sulfur vulcanization, the use of resin vulcanization can further shorten the vulcanization time and improve the heat resistance of the vulcanized rubber. Quinone oxime vulcanizing agent has little effect on the vulcanization time of chlorinated butyl rubber and butyl rubber.

In actual production, chlorinated butyl rubber can also be used together with butyl reclaimed rubber and chlorinated butyl reclaimed rubber to effectively reduce the cost of raw materials under the premise of ensuring product quality. Among them, the vulcanization system and the performance characteristics of the vulcanized rubber are consistent with CIIR/IIR The combined use of glue is basically the same.

2. Chlorinated butyl compound and natural rubber are used together

Adding an appropriate amount of natural rubber to the chlorobutyl rubber can significantly improve the low-temperature performance of the chlorobutyl vulcanizate. When a vulcanization system with approximately the same vulcanization time is used, the two can be used together in any ratio to achieve co-vulcanization. In actual production, chlorinated butyl rubber/natural rubber combined rubber can use sulfur vulcanization, sulfur carrier vulcanization, peroxide vulcanization, etc. In order to prevent scorching of chlorinated butyl rubber/natural rubber combined rubber, 0.1-0.5 parts of magnesium oxide can be added to the formula.

3. Combined use of chlorinated butyl rubber and styrene butadiene rubber

The processing characteristics of styrene-butadiene rubber and natural rubber are basically the same. Chlorinated butyl rubber can be used together with it in any ratio, and the vulcanization system is the same when used together with natural rubber. In actual production, the sulfur-accelerator CZ vulcanization system can give CIIR/SBR combined rubber a good vulcanization performance. The amount of sulfur is generally controlled at 0.5-1 part. When the amount is large, it can be used together with a delayed-acting accelerator such as DOTG; or Using sulfur donors such as DPTT-TMTD vulcanization system, the vulcanizate has better heat resistance and flexibility resistance.

In actual production, chlorobutyl rubber can also be used together with butadiene rubber, nitrile rubber, ethylene propylene rubber, etc., to further improve the performance of the finished rubber products. The next edition will continue to share with you chlorobutyl rubber and other Commonly used vulcanization system when rubber is used together.
